Lake Spivey Golf Course was designed by D.J. DeVictor. The course first opened 9-holes in 1963, The Hillside Course. The 9-hole Lakeside Course opened in 1973. A third 9=holes, The Clubhouse Course opened in 1987.
The 27 -hole facility was reconfigured as an 18-hole golf course in 2007. The best of the Lakeside 9 and The Hillside 9 were combined to form 9 holes. Together with the Clubhouse 9, the updated layout is the current 18-hole Lake Spivey Golf Course. This more modern layout has 5 sets of tees playing from 4,800 yards to 6,800 yards, with the middle tees at 6,000 yards
The front 9 starts is a good warm-up to the much more difficult back 9. There's some good risk/reward holes, a nice change of pace short and long holes, and there's water in play on a number of holes, The greens are small to mid-sized, quick and undulating.

The configuration has changed for the better at Lake Spivey. They now have just 18 holes instead of 27. The Clubside stayed in tact but the managed to splice together the best 9 holes from Lakeside and Hillside, then moved some tee boxes for a far superior back 9. Its outstanding.
